Dr Andre Beattie

Dr. Andre Beattie took an alternative route into studying Medicine after initially completing a BSc Hons degree in Psychology at the University of Surrey. As part of his first degree he worked at Great Ormond Street Hospital with children undergoing heart and lung transplants and this led him to eventually studying Medicine at St. Georges hospital in London where he subsequently worked for several years before taking some time out to travel the world and work as a doctor in Australia. Andre is passionate about family and preventative medicine; he practices in Surrey and also works in hospital dermatology. His clinical interests include dermatological disease and skin cancer, minor surgery, community medicine, sports medicine and rehabilitation, mental health, frailty and preventative healthcare. Andre is an experienced GP with over 25 years of NHS experience, he has a strong track record in strategic healthcare and service development having set up and run the community services contract in his locality to provide high level holistic support for frail elderly patients at risk of admission into hospital. The wider project has been nominated and won several national awards and is now being replicated in other areas across the UK. He works across both primary and community teams and sits on the Executive Boards of both SDHC and DHC as the Community Services Director. Outside of work he is a sports enthusiast enjoying tennis, football, calisthenics, yoga and running. He lives locally with his wife and 3 children and continues to enjoy travelling as much as he can.
