Dr Vishal Sagar read medicine at King’s College London School of Medicine and is a highly experienced GP with over 19 years in the NHS. He currently practises in Surrey and also works in hospital cardiology. Vishal is passionate about family medicine, committed to improving access for the local community, and takes a warm, compassionate and holistic approach to care.
His clinical interests include cardiovascular medicine, respiratory health, neurology, frailty, preventative healthcare, sports medicine and men’s health.
A committed medical educator, Vishal coaches newly qualified GPs and serves as a GP trainer, sharing his experience with the next generation of primary care clinicians.
He also has a strong interest in health policy and service development. Vishal sits on the Executive Board of the DHC GP Federation as Director of Primary Care and Business Development. In 2018 he set up a bespoke community Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinic, which was nominated for an HSJ Award. From 2021–2022 he served as Cardiovascular Disease Clinical Network Lead for NHS Surrey Heartlands Health and Care Partnership, where he shaped the “Making Every Contact Count” initiative in mass vaccination centres to promote CVD prevention, improve access for the local community and reduce inequalities across Surrey.
Outside work, Vishal is a local resident with his wife and two children. He enjoys football, tennis and travelling.
